Learn about the landscape of consortial e-book programs and brainstorm about what BLC’s consortial e-book program should look like! Where are we now? Where should we go from here?
BLC’s first-ever E-Book Summit will delve into the dynamic world of consortial e-book programs. This event will feature peers and leaders from libraries and consortia across the United States to understand the nuances and complexities of collective collecting at scale. Panel discussions will focus on three topics: the nuts & bolts of consortial collecting, strategy & innovation in the consortial e-book space, and consortial approaches to e-book ILL. Brainstorming sessions with BLC colleagues will be interwoven with these conversations to reflect on the current landscape, culminating in a final session to identify future directions for BLC’s own consortial e-book aspirations.
Panel #1: Nuts & Bolts
Panel #2: E-Book ILL
Panel #3: Strategy & Innovation
After receiving community feedback and connecting with the technical support staff at UNH, we are able to offer a remote viewing option at the BLC E-Book Summit! Interested community members can register to watch the Summit panels virtually. Please note the panel sessions will not be recorded.
While brainstorming sessions will be facilitated as part of the in-person conference, we will not be able to support these brainstorming sessions in a hybrid manner. However, the Summit program guide includes the brainstorming questions and we invite remote participants to reflect and share their feedback with the BLC community via a form to be shared with virtual attendees following the event.
