The BLC is proud to sponsor the New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians. This year’s Science Boot Camp will be held June 26-28, 2024 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians is a fun and affordable 2 ½ day immersion into science topics offering opportunities for librarians and library students interested in science, health sciences, and technology to learn, meet and network in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.
The topics for this year's SBC science session are:
Each topical session will include one researcher presenting an overview of the field, followed by a second researcher discussing their own research within the field. This year’s Capstone will feature Citizen Science in Academic Libraries with a combined program that begins with an interactive presentation of tiered options for getting your library involved in citizen science, followed by a discussion with UMass Dartmouth faculty on their work integrating citizen science into classrooms.
