2015 New England Science Boot Camp

Wednesday, June 17, 2015 - 12:00am to Friday, June 19, 2015 - 11:45pm

This year’s Science Boot Camp will be held June 17-19 on the lovely campus of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  Selection of this year’s science session topics has not been finalized, but will be announced in February. In addition to the three science sessions, this year’s boot camp will feature an evening presentation on the History of Science and a hands-on Capstone activity in which boot campers will work collaboratively to create data management plans from actual research cases.

This year Science Boot Campers can opt to arrive early on Tuesday evening or stay an additional night on Friday (at additional cost) to enjoy the sights and activities in the Bowdoin area. A tour of Bowdoin’s Coastal Center on Orr’s Island will be available to campers who opt to stay later on Friday.

Are you going to SLA in Boston? Consider heading up to boot camp afterwards!  Brunswick is the gateway to mid-coast Maine and is an easy three hour drive from Boston. Public transportation is also an option, via Greyhound bus or the Amtrak Downeaster.  Each provide daily service from Boston to Brunswick.

Registration is located here. For further questions, please contact Donna Kafel, at donna.kafel@umassmed.edu.
