Tuesday, September 24, 2019 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Webinar
Licensing 101: Strategies for Managing Risk & Expanding Knowledge webinar.
This webinar introduces a framework and best practices for effective licensing of library collections and services. It will address common concerns such as learning the legalese, developing negotiation skills, reducing legal risk, and ensuring bang for your buck. It will also illustrate ways in which licensing can nudge the scholarly communication ecosystem toward equitable and sustainable futures.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of licensing (vocabulary, best practices, concepts), along with pointers on how to apply this knowledge strategically in their dealings with vendors and colleagues. This webinar is designed for library staff who are new to licensing or need a refresher, but the strategies and case studies described in the webinar will benefit attendees at all levels of experience.
