The BLC's February webinar of our Expanding Knowledge Webinar Series "Expanding Knowledge: Data Analysis for Collection Management" with Mark ParisBrandeis University's Collections Analysis Librarian and Sally Krash, the Interim Associate Dean for Content & Discovery at UMass Amherst Libraries, was held on Monday, February 26, from 10:00-11:00AM.

This webinar presented an introduction to data analysis for collection management for the non-practitioner and provide insight into its relevance and application in participants' daily work in their library. In 2017, the UMass Libraries’ Collection Analysis Task Force released a report detailing recommendations on how the Libraries should advance collection data analysis & assessment. One year later, about 1/3 of the recommendations have been implemented or are in progress. This presentation also covered the development of these recommendations and provide details around how implementation has progressed. Participants asked a multitude of questions that were aptly answered by the presenters.

A full recording of the webinar is archived on our "Member Events" page. Please contact Executive Director Susan Stearns or Program Coordinator Jessica Hardin if you have any questions or suggestions for future Expanding Knowledge Webinars.
