David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States, Speaks at Networking Day

On Tuesday, May 30th over 175 members of the Boston Library Consortium community gathered at Brandeis University for BLC's annual membership meeting, Networking Day.  The keynote address was given by David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States, who spoke on "Building Our Future Through Our Staff: Rethinking, Recruiting, and Retraining the Workforce in the 2020's".  Following a brief update on BLC activites over the last year by Susan Stearns, Executive Director, and a networking lunch, the assembly listened to 10 lightning talks describing a variety of activities and programs across the BLC members libraries. The day ended with meetings of many of the BLC's Communities of Interest and the kickoff of the first annual BLC Leads leadership institute.
