Open Educational Resources and Current Open Textbook Network Initiatives Webinar

On October 17th, 2017, the BLC hosted an online webinar "Open Educational Resources and Current Open Textbook Network Initiatives" with guest speaker Jeremy Smith, UMass Amherst's Digital Project Manager.
During the webinar, Jeremy Smith reviewed the 2017 Open Textbook Network (OTN) Summer Institute and Summit which he attended in August of 2017, representing the BLC. He presented on recent OTN initiatives, such as their Publishing Cooperative, the creation of new open educational resources, and the development of an open textbook authoring platform. He also shared some recent OTN news and discussed how libraries are collaborating with the OTN to create resources for use with local OER initiatives across the BLC.
The full recording of the webinar can be found here.
The Boston Library Consortium wishes to thank Jeremy for sharing his experience and providing an update on OER. If you have ideas for the Consortium to consider for future events on this or related topics, please contact Mei Mendez.
