BLC Welcomes Marc Hoffeditz as Resource Sharing Program Manager

Boston Library Consortium (BLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Hoffeditz as Resource Sharing Program Manager, effective September 1.

The Resource Sharing Program Manager is a new role at BLC, arising from a member-driven aspiration for the consortium to expand support for our resource sharing practitioners and membership Communities.

Marc joins BLC from Tufts University, where he serves as Library Coordinator at the Ginn Library, assisting in oversight of the Access Services department by organizing course reserves, overseeing interlibrary loan services, and handling student accounts.

“Marc has built a reputation as a trusted and forward-thinking colleague,” said Charlie Barlow, BLC’s executive director. “Marc’s leadership and service to our Strategic Planning Steering Committee, our Resource Sharing Community of Interest, and our new E-Books Sharing Working Group has amplified the energy and collective value of our consortium, and I look forward to working with him in this new role.”

At BLC, Marc will lead our resource sharing program portfolio and strategize about the future of resource sharing for libraries and consortia, building upon the strategic initiatives and priorities outlined in BLC’s new Strategic Action Plan. Marc will also play a leading role in BLC’s Controlled Digital Lending (CDL) program, scaling our implementation of CDL as a mechanism for interlibrary loan in collaboration with Project ReShare.

“I’m beyond honored to serve in this inaugural role,” said Marc Hoffeditz. “While the Resource Sharing community at the BLC faces many challenges ahead, I look forward to working in partnership with our membership to support the crucial work they provide to their constituencies.”

The new Resource Sharing Program Manager role is supported in part by a grant received from the Davis Educational Foundation, established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc.

Please join us in welcoming Marc to the BLC team!
