Schedule and Format
The morning will feature a light breakfast, consortial updates from BLC leadership, and keynote address. This year's keynote address, "Advocacy in Libraries, Libraries in Advocacy," is led by Jennie Rose Halperin, Executive Director of Library Futures, the vanguard nonprofit organization providing librarians, library workers, policymakers, and community leaders with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to protect, advocate for, and advance a fair digital future for libraries and the communities they serve. This keynote will discuss the role of consortia in library advocacy and explore what the future of community-centered, effective action could look like in both physical and digital library spaces in order to promote equity and intellectual freedom for our communities and beyond. These morning sessions will be streamed for virtual attendees.
The afternoon will include opportunities to connect, share, and collaborate with fellow BLC members. We will feature presentations, panels, and lightning talks from BLC members to share innovative ideas, projects, and initiatives. Our host, the University of New Hampshire, will also offer curated library experiences, including tours and collection presentations. The day will conclude with BLC community meetings.
