Community of Interest

Community Charge

The BLC Media Community of Interest serves as a forum for discussing the issues and developments in the field of audiovisual media from analog to digital formats. The group explores traditional themes of audiovisual media collections, services and best practices in academic libraries and emerging trends related to streaming media and beyond.

The COI expects to:

  • Provide a community for the wide range of BLC members who are concerned with streaming and analog media.
  • Stay current with technologies by exploring trends, exchanging information, testing and sharing practical applications.
  • Establish relationships with vendors working with streaming media and digitization.
  • Stay abreast of related areas such as copyright, accessibility and preservation.
  • Provide outreach to communities outside of BLC where relevant.
