Northeast Science Camp for Librarians

BLC is proud to sponsor the Northeast Science Camp for Librarians. 

The Northeast Science Camp for Librarians (formerly the New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians) is an engaging and affordable 2 ½ day immersion into science topics offering opportunities for librarians and library students interested in science, health sciences, and technology to learn, meet, and network in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

Northeast Science Camp for Librarians 2026

This year’s Science Camp will be held June 8-10, 2026 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. 

Registration will open on Friday, April 17, 2026.

The session topics for this year's conference are:

Indigenous Knowledge in Life Sciences
Social Work for Wellness
Particle and Theoretical Physics

Each science session will include one scientist presenting an overview of the field, and a second scientist discussing research applications within the field. This year's Capstone is Librarian Publishing: Publishing in the Discipline, Research Impact, and Writing.

When: Monday, June 8 - Wednesday, June 10, 2026 

Where: University of New Hampshire 

Topics: Indigenous Knowledge in Life Sciences, Particle    and Theoretical Physics, Social Work for Wellness 

Capstone: Librarian Publishing: Publishing in the          Discipline, Research Impact, and Writing 

Who Should Attend

Students, faculty, librarians, library workers, and anyone interested in learning more about science, health sciences, and technology. While this conference is being organized in New England, we welcome interested attendees from anywhere!

Scholarship Opportunity

BLC and the Northeast Science Camp for Librarians are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for the 2026 conference. Scholarships are available to fully or partially cover the registration fee at any tier for attendees who may lack professional development funding and/or who are underrecognized at this event and in librarianship.

You’re encouraged to apply for a scholarship if any of the following apply to you:

  • Students currently pursuing an MLIS/MLS degree at an accredited institution

  • Librarians within the first three years of full-time employment in the library field

  • Librarians and library workers in underrepresented and minoritized groups, including BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+, and individuals with disabilities

  • Librarians and library workers who do not receive professional development funding from their employer

  • Library employees without an MLIS degree

Applications must be submitted by Friday, April 10, 2026 at 12 pm ET. Decisions will be announced and scholarships awarded on or by April 16, 2026.
