Lunch & Learn is a virtual program series created to provide a space for vendors to discuss products and services with BLC members. BLC does not endorse or recommend any products or services highlighted in this series.
The session will be an introduction to using BookWhere Suite as an alternative, shared cooperative copy cataloging tool. Unlike other software and subscription options, BookWhere Suite does not host or store MARC records, instead it gives the user the ability to search databases around the world in real-time. The parameters for these databases are maintained in WebClarity’s registry and synchronized weekly to your copy of BookWhere Suite. The session will start with a brief background of the company and then describe several key features and functions which support the goals of reducing time and cost to locate bibliographic records while helping to ensure high record quality. It will include a demonstration of several sample searches to illustrate some of the described features. And it will conclude with a quick overview of BookWhere Suite’s easy-to-use integrated MARC record editor, MARC Notepad, designed to expedite record clean-up.
This presentation will be led by Allison Standen, MLIS, Customer Account Manager of WebClarity Software, Inc. BLC Member Joanna Fuchs, Metadata Coordinator for Arts and Humanities of Brandeis Library, will share about her experience implementing and using BookWhere for cataloging.
