Lunch & Learn is a virtual program series created to provide a space for vendors to discuss products and services with BLC members. BLC does not endorse or recommend any products or services highlighted in this series. This session will feature Hyku for Consortia.
In this Lunch & Learn session, the Hyku for Consortia Project Team will present an overview of PALCI and PALNI's initiative aimed at expanding affordable and flexible open-source repositories for consortial applications and services. Over the past six years, PALCI and PALNI have collaborated on this project, securing two IMLS grants for its initial development. The partnering consortia, known as "PALs," began by pooling and leveraging each consortium's expertise and resources. In the last year, it has transitioned from a grant-funded development and pilot project, culminating in the recent launch of its joint consortial repository service to members of each consortium and collaborating organizations, including the BLC. PALCI and PALNI staff will delve into the project's structure, platform features, and the business and service models employed during the initial service launch. Additionally, they will discuss the challenges and opportunities on the horizon.
