The Boston Library Consortium [BLC] includes 18 research libraries in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. The membership encompasses public and private universities, a state library and a research institute. Each of the current members is listed below.  Exept for the two current Affiliate Members - the University of Massachusetts Medical Library and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Full Members participate in resoruce sharing and reciprocal borrowing.

Libraries interested in membership in the BLC or in working with the BLC should contact the Executive Director. The BLC is glad to entertain institutions concerned with higher education and research as potential members. In December of 2015, the BLC modified its Membership guidelines to support both Full and Affiliate Members. The BLC also works with libraries, other consortia and vendors on a variety of projects around issues of importance to academic and research libraries.
